The Story Behind KM Fine Photography

Family owned and operated on Long Island since 2013, KM Fine Photography was built on a simple belief: every milestone deserves to be captured beautifully. Meet the wife-and-husband team behind the camera.

Karen Millindorf

Creative Director & Senior Photographer

My passion has always been following fine arts and expressing it through design and photography.

As a child, I was the one redesigning the bulletin boards, rearranging the chairs, and noticing the visual and functional design of every room. That same eye has stayed with me ever since — because life moves fast, and it’s so important to capture the moments that matter, beautifully and for good.

I graduated with an Arts degree from the University of Sacred Heart in Santurce, Puerto Rico, and a degree in Design from the Parsons School of Design in New York City, with additional study abroad in Paris, France.

Today, my work leads with sport portraits at Thunder Sports Photography, while continuing to focus on graduations, professional photographs and events, family portraits, milestones, and celebrations — bringing a fine-art eye to every session.

Mark Millindorf

General Director & Technology

Photography today looks very different than it did a generation ago. Instead of developing film in a darkroom, we now edit and enhance every image in Lightroom — refining contrast, color, and clarity until each photo looks its best.

Using that technology, I help make every portrait look polished and every family photograph one that’s cherished for years to come.

I graduated with a Computer Science degree from Binghamton University. In addition to photography, I continue to work in the financial services sector focusing on product management — bringing that same technical eye and business background to KM Fine Photography.
